Championship Competitions

Academics Shield

Academics shield is awarded to the house whose cadets exhibit the best performance in academics at all levels. The criterion for award of academic shield is the aggregate of average marks obtained by the cadets of a house in all examinations, internal or external. Therefore, the academic performance of all the cadets of a house is evaluated according to a set formula. The house scoring the highest is awarded the shield.

The points given to the houses on the basis of their ranking in each competition are as under:

Note: Individual star academic performances in internal examinations are rewarded with prizes / medals on the event of the ‘Annual Day’.

Note: Individual star academic performances in external (Board) examinations are rewarded with prizes / medals on the event of the ‘Parents Day’.

Drill Shield

Drill shield is awarded to the house that wins the annual “Drill Competition”. The points given to the houses on the basis of their ranking in each competition are as under:

Note: During drill competition, several individual performances are also rewarded. These include:

·        Best Dressed Cadet

Sports Shield

Sports shield is awarded to the house that scores the highest number of points in all the sports events held in the year. These events are held separately for Juniors (Class 7^th, 8^th, 9^th) and Seniors (Class 10^th, 11^th, 12^th). The sports events include:

·        Cricket

·        Foot Ball

·        Hockey

·        Basket Ball

·        Volley Ball

The points given to the houses on the basis of their ranking in each competition are as under:

Athletics Shield

Athletics shield is awarded to the house that scores the highest number of points in all the athletics events held in the year. These events are held separately for Juniors (Class 7^th, 8^th, 9^th) and Seniors (Class 10^th, 11^th, 12^th). The athletics events include:

·        Cross Country Race (4.2 Km long across the college ridges)

·        Individual Running events (1500 m, 400 m, 200 m, 100 m)

·        (Team) Relay events (4*400 m, 4*200m, 4*100 m etc)

·        Jump Events (Long, Triple, High, Pole Vault etc)

·        Throwing events (Short Put, Discus, Hammer etc)

The points given to the houses on the basis of their ranking in each competition are as under:

Cultural Shield

Cultural shield is awarded to the house that scores the highest number of points in all the cultural events held in the year. These events are held jointly for Juniors and Seniors. The cultural events include:

·        Elocution Contests (English, Urdu and Pashto). The Elocution contest comprises

o       Poem (Class 7^th , 8^th)

o       Prose (Book) Reading (Class 9^th , 10^th)

o       Debate (Class 11^th , 12^th)

·        Drama competition (Short, 20-25 Minutes stage dramas)

·        Quiz competition

·        Qiraat (Recitation of Holy Quran) competition

The points given to the houses on the basis of their ranking in each competition are as under:

Overall Champions Shield

A complex formula is followed for award of the Overall Champions shield. The formula outline is as under:

·        Points in academics * 5

·        Points in each sports / athletics / drill event * 4

·        Points in each cultural event * 3

The points obtained by each house are compiled according to the above formula and the house with the highest cumulative score is declared the “Champion”.

Note: Champion shield and all other shields are awarded to the houses on the “Parents Day” and are held by them for one year.
